A recurring call needs a monthly calculation

Suppose you want eight ten-minute voice calls and 300 texts in one billing month. This is a concrete routine that both products’ documentation can help you assess.

SoulFun’s terms list Premium at $19.99 monthly with 1,000 coins. Text costs one coin per message, voice ten per minute and video twenty per minute. For the proposed routine:

Action Published-rate calculation
Eight ten-minute voice calls 8 × 10 × 10 = 800 coins
300 texts 300 × 1 = 300 coins
Combined demand 1,100 coins

The routine exceeds the stated monthly grant by 100 coins before photos or any other charge. The cited page does not establish an extra-coin purchase price or minute-rounding rules, so 1,100 is a planning calculation rather than a verified bill.

A concrete adjustment is to shorten each call to eight minutes. The same calculation becomes 640 voice coins plus 300 texts: 940 coins, leaving 60 of the published grant. This changes the routine; it does not claim that shorter calls have the same value.

Nomi documents a different voice allowance

Nomi’s hands-free call guide says calls are included with paid subscriptions and that in-house voices and Custom Voices have unlimited usage. ElevenLabs voices instead depend on the user’s ElevenLabs plan.

That is directly relevant to a reader who wants recurring calls without dividing a shared coin grant between texts and voice minutes. It does not make Nomi free, establish the same subscription price as SoulFun, or promise unlimited use of an external voice provider.

The choice of voice matters to the allowance. Do not read the in-house allowance as a waiver of ElevenLabs’ limits. A Custom Voice also requires authorized source material; an arbitrary real person’s recording is not permission to reproduce their voice.

What happens when the call returns to text?

Nomi’s guide explicitly says calls use the same conversation history as text and other voice interactions. Its voice instructions also describe switching between typed and spoken messages within the same conversation.

For an original fictional adult travel planner, a route chosen during the call can therefore belong to the continuing conversation rather than an unrelated voice session. This is evidence about shared history, not a guarantee that every spoken detail will be retrieved correctly later.

Keep different controls distinct:

  • Select the Phone icon for a continuous call.
  • Hold the microphone button and release to send one voice message.
  • Use the play button to hear a particular response.
  • Enable Always Reply With Voice in Voice Settings if solo-chat text replies should also be spoken. Group voice replies have separate advanced settings.

Microphone permission and correct speaker or Bluetooth routing are prerequisites. The guide also says long silence can disconnect a call, and responses take processing time.

SoulFun’s cited subscription document supplies consumption units but does not explain an equivalent cross-mode history mechanism. That specific comparison remains unverified; it should not be filled with a claim that its calls are isolated or forgetful.

Choose the call routine you can maintain

For a fixed SoulFun grant, decide the minutes and texts together, then reduce one if the combined demand exceeds 1,000 coins. For recurring Nomi calls, select the applicable voice source and use the documented text/call history workflow.

A saved context section can still help distinguish a lasting preference from today’s route, but it is no substitute for the actual call allowance. Neither set of documents establishes which voice sounds better, has lower latency or handles interruption more naturally. The supported decision is the usage model and the documented path back to the same conversation.

Sources and scope

This comparison separates documented capabilities from editorial interpretation. Source access and any limitations are described in the article; a suggested evaluation is not a claim of completed testing.
